SMI, an institute that is a staunch follower of Indian value system adopts this stance in the form of a mandatory industrial tour. The Industrial visits are organized from time to time by SMI. The main objective of arranging these visits for students to gain an insight into a working environment related to a subject area. Industrial visits are a vital part of the course curriculum. This provide the students with opportunities to plan organize and engage in active learning experience both inside and outside classroom. These units have always offered insights to students about the practical applications of their theoretical knowledge. Such visits also provide first-hand knowledge about the organizational structures and modes of their operation.

JVS Food Industry

The students of S. S. Jain Subodh Management Institute went on an industrial visit to JVS Foods Industry Sitapura, Jaipur. They were given a guided tour of the facility and the process of manufacturing used was explained in detail to them. JVS Foods in Rajasthan’s largest Food Products Company which operates under extremely mechanized and hygienic standards. The students learnt that the company supplies its fortified food products in over 20 nations worldwide. The nutritional values of the food products of JVS Foods are as per the standards of World Food Program (WFP).

On the industrial visit the students were given detailed information about the production process of the foods fortified with multivitamins, iron, protein etc in the required quantity. On the occasion the General Manager of JVS Foods explained the Marketing Policies of the company to the students.

Saras Dairy, Jaipur

SMI organized industrial tour for MBA students to Saras Dairy. The students visited SARAS watched manufacturing plant where they had seen the manufacturing of Saras products and enhanced their knowledge of production management. The HR Head beautifully described about the HR policies and their functioning. The Dairy officials closely illustrated intricate working of milk plant such as formation of milk committees at village level , milk collection procedures, processing of milk related to various products, distribution process, payment mechanism, cost benefit analysis, tetra packing and milk powder packing and all the dairy processes including sterilization, pasteurization, white-butter production, ghee-production, paneer making, milk processing, packing etc.

Jaipur Rugs Company Pvt. Ltd.

SMI organized yet another, industrial visit for all the students of MBA to Jaipur Rugs Company Pvt. Ltd. At the plant the manager (HR) and operations from Jaipur Rugs shows a working model and showed provided the information of the overall process of weaving high quality carpet, hand made carpet such as wool sorting and washing, carding, spinning, carpet knotting, trimming, washing and drying finishing etc. The purpose of their exposure visit was to show a wide array of hand knotted, hand tufted, flat weaves, shags and many other indoor and outdoor carpets using only the finest material like handspoon wool, silk and cotton.
The upcoming managers sincerely observed both the manufacturing plant and their manufacturing processes. The questions and queries of the students based on their observations of manufacturing process were also answered. It was an enlightening and enriching experience for the students and an excellent opportunity to come out of the books and to see things as they are in reality.
